Education: Bachelors/Masters degree in Graphic Design, Communication design or Fine Arts graduate from an institute of repute. (Diploma courses in the area of design will be considered).
Work Experience: 2–5 years’ work experience, preferably in a related field.
System/Software knowledge: Computer literacy in Windows / Mac OS, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, QuarkXPress etc. (Candidates well versed with working on InDesign software and MAC OS will be given preference).
Purpose of Role:
Work, under project or senior art editor or managing art editor supervision and guidance, on a single project or spreads from several single projects (including titles in established series) or sections of major projects.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Help timely delivery and quality control of new print and digital products for global trade markets and custom and specials clients.
- Revise backlist products and update digital products as required.
- Work jointly and collaborate effectively with editorial partner at all times on every project.
- Respect, set down, and preserve the DK Way in every project as work progresses.
- Preserve brand values and actively control product quality.
- Develop budget and costs awareness.
- Develop workflow and schedule awareness.
- Respond flexibly to business change requirements.
Skill-Sets:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent design aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to visually and verbally communicate information for print and digital products.
- Imaging technology including Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Basic global publishing principles, as applied to DK.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and handle a varied workload.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm to take on tasks.
