Introduction
- Manage a small team of engineers and technicians, engineering design, assessment, design and inspection report writing, responsible for financial and project management.
- Technical Excellence and delivery of projects taking account of Health & Safety .
- Agree Priorities and deadlines; ensure timely delivery within fee allocation.
- Align work with WoW and maintain Document Control for all work.
- Proactively raising queries and identifying necessary inputs from others.
- Self-development, training and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the iCRC Local Head in the management of a team of Engineers and Technicians engaged on a variety of design, assessment and strengthening projects. Responsible for financial and project management.
- Assisting the iCRC Local Head to plan and allocate team resources; to identify and manage peaks and troughs in workload.
- Agree and monitor scope of works with the iCRC Local Head
- Undertake assessment of existing bridges and preparing assessment reports
- Carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
- Prepare bridge design and strengthening design to WSP and UK standards ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards and WSP WoW procedures
- Carry out design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) inclusive of providing guidance to junior engineers
- Oversee the work of Junior team members
- Develop positive professional relationships with the WSP UK teams, communicating openly about project progress
- Liaise with the WSP UK internal clients and Local iCRC Head to ensure that project requirements are fully understood and essential elements of the role are satisfactorily completed to time and fee
- Be self-motivated and take on project work with a clear focus on timeliness, quality and technical excellence.
- Assist the UK iCRC Head in providing regular reports and updates to WSP UK and India management teams
- Actively deliver on the iCRC Charter promises
- Identify needs and expectations of the UK Client Team, agree and confirm project brief including deliverables and programme
- Agree the project fees according to brief, resource required and programme
- Assist the iCRC Local Head in identifying changes to the brief and implementing strict change control procedures
- Assist the iCRC Local Head in planning the delivery of the projects and for communicating the plan to other iCRC staff and UK Client Team
- Assist the iCRC Local Head in carrying out regular Technical Reviews and promoting technical excellence in all projects
- Supervise the preparation and checking of calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other documents to the required standards
- Carry out in-team checking of work produced by team members
- Present own project work for technical review and sign off by project leader including all calculations.

- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision Have experience to work in other cultures
- Team Leader and experience working in a team

- Willing to travel
- Excellent command of written and verbal English
- Swedish project experience and knowledge of Swedish design standards is advantageous.
