Product Development Engineer Trainee for Mech/Aero/Auto Engineers @ Coimbatore

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing equipment to metal processing and metalworking industries including steel, aluminium and copper production facilities. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the concept, Development, manufacture, and installation of the equipment and works closely with customers and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the entire equipment process through the conceptual, Development, manufacturing, and installation phases.
• Develop manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
• Construct, and oversee technicians, during the construction of developed systems.
• Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Duties include: basic engineering, component details for manufacture, assembly and/or arrangement drawings, proposal engineering, creation of concepts, Developments, layouts and pricing as well as verifying basic and detailed engineering for capacities and dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer – generated reports.
• Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Research and analyze customer Development proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirement of Developments or applications.
• Time will be spent in our facilities and at our customer sites for installations, start-ups, rebuild and troubleshooting.
• Analysis of mechanical systems:
• Force systems and reactions
• Stress analysis
• System inertia
• Power requirements (mechanical)
• Bearing loading and life calculations
• Time study (machine cycle time)
• Working closely with customers and vendors.
• Travel is required.

Required Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and a thorough interest in the workings of machines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Work well both independently and within a group.
• Possess the desire to be in a “hands-on” role and an imaginative, resourceful approach to problem solving.
• MS Office software knowledge is required.
