Your Profile

• Focus on building end to end media (video and music) services and platforms using APIs and workflows that integrate with internal systems as well as third party media distribution partners.
• Partner with product owners, producers and brands' engineering teams to understand needs and develop project requirements.
• Design and implement new metadata and video based workflows that address media management pain-points and core system issues.
• Lead projects related to media based workflow and integration with other systems that require video information – both internal and third party distribution partners.
• Identify automation opportunities within the media management space and develop maintainable software-based solutions.
• Delegate responsibilities to other developers as appropriate and maintaining deliverable timelines
• Interact with senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, across verticals, and customers.
• Regularly meet with project stakeholders and multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver complex features.
• Work in collaboration with the product and technical team to manage a portfolio of projects from their inception to delivery with the highest quality.
• Make sure agile best practices are applied to software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to improvement of BookMyShow software development practices.
• Identify your team members’ areas of development and coach them to improve their performance.
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
• Excellent leadership skills in order to mentor the engineers.

Your checklist

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other equivalent technical degree.
• At least 6 years of software development experience.
• 3+ years experience in Django, Python.
• 2+ years experience in video management, media players (JW player) workflows, transcoding, and CDN.
• 2+ years experience in Cloud technologies.
• 2+ years experience in Open Source technologies such as Node JS, MongoDB & Angular JS.
• Preferred experience in React,ffmpeg,Celery and DRM technologies.                       
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available set-up.
• Deep understanding & expertise with highly transactional, largely relational and complex systems.
• Strong experience working with video standards and technologies such as resolution, frame rate, file format, codecs.
• Demonstrated significant and strong written communication and project management skills.
