DESCRIPTION
The Research Associate role consists of two broad functions: 1) primary and secondary market research; 2) project execution. Additional details are provided below.
Primary and secondary market research
Conduct thorough & in-depth background research on new products coming on to the market as well as on existing and potential clients including top pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and small biopharma companies using secondary information sources
For a pre-defined disease area, perform database and literature research to provide a high-level situation analysis on the evidence available with respect to priority and importance of disease/indication in the major markets, epidemiological and economic burden of the disease, patient treatment pathways, competitive product profile, current unmet medical need, etc.
Critically analyse and interpret information from a multitude of disparate data sources including clinical trial registries, LinkedIn, PubMed, etc., and provide valuable insights to senior leadership and business development teams with respect to potential business opportunities, market understanding, clients’ business environment, and key stakeholders/ budget owners
Produce clear and accurate reports based on research findings
Assist in building industry level insights on procedures, market size and competition.
Run scheduled business analytic reports and distribute
Taking ownership of all the business research assignments entrusted and work closely with the team to produce impeccable quality outputs
Project Contribution and Execution
- Analyse large volumes of qualitative and quantitative health care data, combined with the interpretation and critical evaluation of the retrieved evidence
- With supervision, prioritizes and manages the execution of multiple research projects as assigned by project manager
- Ensures deliverables are of high quality and on time
- Identifies problems in advance and recommends solutions
- Demonstrates sound decision-making ability
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s/ Advanced degree (MA, MBA, MS in life sciences or MBA)
- 0- 1 yrs. of relevant experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and objectively in written and spoken English
- A flexible and collaborative approach to work
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize effectively and adopt a systematic approach to tasks
- MS Office skills, specifically Excel and Word
