Syngene is hiring for Associate Scientist - Bengaulru

Required Qualifications:

·         Candidate with a M Sc/M Tech in Life sciences/Immunology/Cell biology

·         3-9 yrs of experience in an academic or industry-based research environment with emphasis on immunology / immuno‐oncology/cell biology 

Technical skills:

o             Firm understanding of the principles and cell types of the immune system.

o             Experience at isolation of PBMCs from the human whole blood.

o             Good working knowledge of isolation and enrichment of human (and/or mouse) primary immune cells (T cells, B cells, NK cells, Macrophages etc).

o             Sound knowledge of Multicolour flowcytometry based immune phenotyping (highly preferred).

o             Well verse with cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays.

o             Good working knowledge on cytokine release assays (both intracellular and soluble formats).

o             Binding assays.

o             Experience at culturing human primary T cells, NK cells, Macrophages.

o             Experience at handling ES cells/iPSCs is highly desirable.

o             Experience at transfection and/or transduction of Primary cells (T cells) and cell lines.

o             ELISA, Western blotting.

o             Experience at culturing cell lines of various origins.

o             Real time PCR

o             Excellent attention to experimental details, data documentation and clear communication of compiled data to team members.

o             Excellent verbal/written communication and ability to communicate effectively with high transparency is essential. 

Data Compilation skills:

o             Computer proficiency including the use of spreadsheet and word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel and Power point.   

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

o             Good work ethics.

o             Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work with co‐workers professionally.

o             General ability to thrive in a growing infrastructure and culture and also think out of box approach when troubleshooting and problem solving
