The Urban Development Consulting Division of SMEC employs more than 200 staff including Civil Engineers, Surveyors, Town Planners, Urban Designers and Master Planners, Landscape Architects and Project Managers.  We provide integrated consulting services needed to plan, design, construct and manage projects from concept to completion.

THE ROLE 

Our Urban business is looking for a suitable Experienced Survey Draftsperson to join our Melbourne Survey Team. The successful candidate will be experienced in all facets and responsibilities associated with the successful delivery of large multi-lot residential subdivisions, primarily in Melbourne’s outer metropolitan area.
In summary, we are seeking demonstrated experience and relevant proficiency in the following:
  • AutoCAD / MicroStation
  • Preparation of formal plans pursuant to both the Subdivision Act 1988 & the Transfer of Land Act 1958
  • Preparation of complex Existing Conditions plans
  • Asset recording submissions
  • Proven ability to be flexible and resourceful
  • Compliance with OH&S requirements
As a member of the Survey CAD team, you will be responsible for the preparation of plans to Statutory and Authority Standards and be a key member contributing proactively to help drive initiatives within the group. You will also play a key role in the delivery of major residential estates for signature urban developments across Melbourne’s fast-growing metropolitan environment.

Suitable applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Survey Drafting
  • High level understanding of AutoCAD software
  • minimum 3+ years’ professional industry experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
