The successful candidate working together with the UK based resource will bring their expertise, capability and engineering knowledge to facilitate additional growth in the Oil and Gas sector in India to ensure the UK growth targets for the business are met

JOB REQUISITES
Role Summary
We are seeking to recruit a Senior Piping Designer to join our CRC engineering department and specifically our Oil and Gas discipline helping to contribute towards its continuing success.
Working as part of a large engineering group the role requires the ability to use AutoCAD based software packages to prepare detailed engineering piping drawings including PFD’s, P&ID’s, plot plans and layouts, pipe supports and isometrics in line with the clients requirements. Further to this the role also includes preparing 2D and 3D plant layouts in line with the requirements of the engineering project team.

Detailed knowledge and proven application in all general piping design / layout aspects.

Must be conversant in materials of construction, insulation and installed instruments commonly used. A thorough understanding of common equipment and routing of all major process and utility piping in accordance with P&IDs and project standards, including the understanding of impact of specific service conditions on piping design e.g., vibration, two-phase slug flow.

Experienced in more complex piping systems such as lined and jacketed pipe and the impact of material supply and fabrication on piping design.
Has developed a basic understanding of stress analysis concepts and skilled in pipe support selection.

Responsibilities

  • The ability to creates and modify detailed engineering drawings using 2D/3D AutoCAD software packages based on information supplied by engineers and designers. 
  • Must be a self- starter and proficient in the use of AutoCAD Plant 3D 2016/18. 
  • Must have the ability to develop, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.
  • Develop detail design drawings incorporating vendor 2D and 3D drawings for Pressure reduction stations and gas metering stations.
  • Develop overall routing maps and layouts, plot plans, pipeline alignment sheets and pig trap stations drawings, pipeline ROW sections, pipeline trench sections and other project specific details. Including the application Site Topographical Survey drawings and data.
  • Develop typical crossing drawings for highways, railways, third party pipelines, underground cables and overhead lines.
  • Familiar with the relevant International Standards, and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
  • Liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate BIM Model design processes and production.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required. 
  • Assists with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of CAD standards in line with WSP procedures.

  • The role will require working alone and as part of a large cross disciplinary team across office locations so the successful candidate should be self-motivated and also a strong communicator who works well with others. 
  • Support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required.
  • Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Requirements
Qualifications and Work Experience

  • City & Guilds 4351 AutoCAD levels 2 & 3 (2D&3D) or equivalent qualification as a minimum.
  • Excellent CAD skills, including considerable experience using AutoCAD Software and AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • At least 10 Years proven industry experience in either FEED and/or detailed design on Oil and Gas projects.
  • GIS experience is preferred
  • Autodesk AutoCAD certified user certification would be advantageous.
  • An Engineering qualification is not essential but would be advantageous
